About your trip

Uncover the beauty of northern Italy in just three days on this prosecco-filled adventure.

This long weekend will see you venture into the Prosecco Hills on a vineyard safari, learning about the ancient traditions that have shaped our favorite wine (yes, there’ll be tastings too).

You’ll eat your way around the backstreets of Venice, absorbing the city’s beauty and character, before enjoying a scenic cycle along Il Sile (the perfect way to work off all that tiramisù).

The homelands of Prosecco are calling – ready to go?

Arrival in the Prosecco Hills

Welcome to Italia. Meet your fellow travelers and guide at your B&B in Treviso, before heading out together for an evening of prosecco-making at a prestigious wine estate. You’ll learn how the wine is produced, using time-honored methods passed down through generations, before harvesting the grapes yourself. You will, of course, have the chance to drink the stuff – enjoy a few glasses of authentic wine paired with delicious cicchetti (little bite-sized appetizers) against the backdrop of the beautiful Prosecco Hills. Spend the rest of the evening in the lovely city of Treviso – we recommend trialling one of the local trattorias for a first-night dinner.

Explore Venice’s backstreets

Today is all about exploring Venice. There’s a lot to see in this labyrinthine world; your guide will show you around the hidden backstreets, taking you on a foodie tour through the city as the locals know it. The next few hours are yours to explore Venice at your own pace. Wander along the beautiful canals or head down to Piazza San Marco, before regrouping with your fellow travellers for cicchetti and wine. For the rest of the afternoon, we recommend taking a water taxi over to Murano – an island renowned for its glass-blowing traditions – or exploring the Basilica di San Marco for its beautiful Byzantine mosaics.

Cycling through Little Venice

Your final day in Italy will see you cycle along Il Sile, a river flowing through Treviso all the way to the coast. Enjoy a traditional Italian lunch and tiramisù tasting, at the location where the dessert was invented, before seeing your adventure off in style with an arrivederci aperitif. It’s now over to you to head onto your next destination. If you’re interested in extending your Italian escape, we recommend our wellness adventure in Tuscany – expect yoga and wine in equal measure.

Overlooking a cobbled square in the center of town, these simple rooms come with views of the streets or Sile River. The buffet breakfast is served in a pretty flower-filled dining room.

Important Notes

Fly into and out of Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) or Treviso Airport (TSF).

If flying into Marco Polo Airport, please arrive by 11.30am latest on day 1, for a 12pm pick up.

However, you may find better flight options direct to Treviso. The airport is very close to our hotel, so you can easily arrange a local taxi there yourself.

On day 3, we will drop you off at Marco Polo Venice Airport no later than 3:30pm. If you are flying from Treviso, we can drop you off en route, no later than 3pm.

We advise arriving a day before if traveling a long distance.

When we have more Flashpackers traveling than there are rooms in Il Focolare, we will all stay in Hotel Continental which has the same price and a similar charm factor.

Please be aware that the itinerary, activities and hotels are subject to change. These changes can happen with little notice due to availability, poor weather, seasonal changes, or other circumstances beyond our control – but we’ll always do our best to ensure it has little impact on your experience. From time to time, we may also make changes to your itinerary to try out new ideas and keep things fresh and exciting.

We take safety very seriously on Flash Pack adventures – read more here.
