About your trip

Belize. A world of idyllic beaches, rich rainforests and exotic wildlife. And it’s all yours to lap up in just five days.

Over a long weekend, you’ll picnic in the rainforest and wild-swim in mountain pools, before flying through the canopy on an epic rainforest zipline.

Then, escape to the white-sand beaches of Caye Caulker, where you’ll snorkel through lush coral reefs and cruise the Caribbean by catamaran. Five days well spent, we think.

Touch down on exotic turquoise shores

Welcome to Belize, home to lush rainforests and idyllic island cayes. Land at Belize City International Airport, where a private transfer will be waiting to take you to your hotel. There, you’ll finally meet your fellow travellers and dedicated guide over a welcome drink, before heading out together to a local restaurant. Typical Belize cuisine consists of beans, stewed chicken and ceviche – all flavours you’ll experience on your first night feast.

Rainforest exploring & wild swimming

Today you’ll catch a two-hour road transfer to San Ignacio; a picturesque town in western Belize near the Guatemalan border. Upon arrival, begin your day with a gentle hike through Mountain Pine Ridge – a nature reserve home to incredible rainforest, lagoons and waterfalls. Your hike will take you to the heart of the jungle, and you’ll all enjoy a refreshing swim in the forest pools. After a light picnic lunch, venture into the Rio Frio cave to encounter the mysterious stalagmites and natural formations that creep down from the ceiling. Then return to your hotel, where you’ll have a couple of hours to relax before dinner with your group.

Escape to an untouched beach paradise

This morning’s agenda? A thrilling zipline through the canopy – with the sights and sounds of the jungle unfolding beneath you – followed by a gentle hike through Mountain Pine Ridge. After an action-packed morning, enjoy a replenishing lunch with your fellow travellers, then you’ll catch your domestic flight transfer to Caye Caulker. This Caribbean island may be tiny, but it’s a place of intense colour and beauty. We’re talking turquoise seas as clear as glass and vibrant greenery. Upon arrival, the rest of the afternoon is yours to settle into your island escape. Snorkel at leisure, unwind on the beach or enjoy a rum cocktail with your group as the sun goes down.

Private catamaran & snorkelling with sharks

This morning will see you hop aboard a catamaran for a languid day at sea. Your boat trip will take you on a sun-kissed adventure through the best wildlife spots in the region, including the Hol Chan turtle gardens and the Shark and Ray Alley. Here, you’ll snorkel alongside sharks, turtles and manta rays, weaving between lush thickets of coral reef. And when you’re not exploring in the sea, sit back and enjoy a beer aboard the catamaran. Back on dry land, enjoy a beach barbecue with your group around a crackling bonfire, with flowing rum to see you through the night.

Adios Belize

This morning, catch a water taxi back to the mainland, where an airport transfer will pick you up from the Water Express Marine. The first water taxi leaves Caye Caulker at 6.00AM, and you’ll need to be at the airport at least three hours before your flight. If you feel like extending your Central American adventure, we recommend combining with our Guatemalan escape – or opt for two in one with our 12-day Guatemala and Belize trip.

Important Notes

Fly into and out of Belize International Airport (BZE). Please book your flight home after 10am at the earliest (this is due to the time the water taxi leaves Caye Caulker).

Hotels in Belize are not quite up to the standard of the Caribbean as a whole and can be basic, but the beautiful landscape and incredible experiences on offer more than make up for this.

Please be aware that the itinerary, activities and hotels are subject to change. These changes can happen with little notice due to availability, poor weather, seasonal changes, or other circumstances beyond our control – but we’ll always do our best to ensure it has little impact on your experience. From time to time, we may also make changes to your itinerary to try out new ideas and keep things fresh and exciting.
