What happened in Turkey?

On 6 February, 2023, two major earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.7 and 7.5 hit southern Turkey and about 14 million people have been affected.

Does Flash Pack go near of the affected areas on the Classical Turkey tour?

We don’t visit any of the affected cities except for Adana, which we occasionally use when our direct flight to Cappadocia is not available and we may instead fly into Adana’s airport, driving onto Cappadocia from there.

Is it safe to travel to Turkey at this time?

It is completely safe to travel to Turkey and all Flash Pack trips are running as normal.

How will travel to Turkey impact the local people?

Many people were displaced during the earthquake and are now looking for new job opportunities to help support their recovery. Tourism is one of the biggest sectors of the economy in Turkey and local people need travellers more than ever in order to create more job opportunities. Travel is one of the best ways that you can show your support.

Would it be better to delay my adventure?

Considering the sites we visit on our Flash Pack adventure in Turkey remain unaffected and as beautiful as ever, there is no reason to delay travelling to Turkey. Our adventures continue as usual and, as ever, we’re here to support the people of Turkey and our partners on the ground.
