Luxor is often called the world’s greatest open-air museum, for the scale and grandeur of its monuments that survived from ancient Thebes. Don’t miss the colonnaded temple of Karnak or the tombs of Ramses I and VI in the ancient Valley of the Kings.
Cairo
Cairo is a vast, sprawling capital city with a long rich history and divine cuisine. Visit the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities or the Mosque of Muhammad Ali (Pasha) and explore the winding streets of the bustling Khan Al-Khalili bazaar.
Aswan
Starting point for trips to Abu Simbel and the Temple of Ramses II, Aswan is a tranquil base where you can take lazy felucca rides to river islands, visit Nubian villages or ride a camel to the atmospheric desert Monastery of St Simeon.
